Integrated roof, solar, and battery systems for modern Los Angeles homes
Torrance – Cool Roof (Phase 1)
Location: Torrance, CA
Year: 2025
System:
Phase 1 – Owens Corning Cool Roof
Phase 2 – 9.20 kW Solar System + Tesla Powerwall 3
Homeowner Story:
This homeowner in Torrance was paying over $400 a month in electricity and wanted a smarter, long-term solution. He recently installed a hybrid vehicle charger and plans to add a large spa, both of which will increase his power demand. His goal was to invest once and create a home that’s energy-efficient, comfortable, and future-proof.
UV Roofing Solution:
We began with Phase 1, installing a new Owens Corning Cool Roof system to reduce heat absorption and prepare the home for solar integration. The cool roof instantly improved comfort during the warm Torrance summers and lowered cooling costs.
Now, as part of Phase 2, UV Roofing is designing and installing a 9.20 kW solar array paired with a Tesla Powerwall 3, allowing the homeowner to generate, store, and use clean energy on his own terms.
Result
The home’s foundation is now energy-ready, with solar and battery installation scheduled next. Once complete, the system will offset nearly all power usage — including EV charging and the new spa — while protecting the home from rising utility costs and future outages.

Ready for a more comfortable and reliable home.
Roof, solar, or full backup power, we guide you through every step personally so your home feels protected and powered the right way.
Yes. Many homeowners choose to upgrade the roof and install solar together because it prevents extra penetrations, avoids future leaks, and creates a clean, integrated system built to last. We install the solar racking while the roof is open for proper waterproofing and long-term performance.
We install Maxeon solar panels, Enphase IQ8 microinverters, Tesla Powerwall 3, and Franklin A Power 2. These systems deliver strong performance, high efficiency, and reliable backup power during outages.
Yes. A battery can power essential circuits such as lighting, WiFi, refrigeration, home office equipment, and medical devices. Full home backup is also available. We design the system based on your comfort needs and lifestyle.
Savings depend on shading, roof orientation, and energy use. Many homeowners see meaningful reductions and long-term protection against rising utility rates, especially with Maxeon and Enphase systems.
Roof replacement and solar installation each take only a few days. The full timeline depends on your city and utility approvals. We work with LADWP, Edison, PG&E, Pasadena Water and Power, Glendale Water and Power, and Burbank Water and Power. We handle all paperwork and keep you updated throughout the process.
